Xtreme Fit® Interactive Gaming System Review

I had Wii Fit before but it was always a hassle to make it work right, so I very rarely used it. Then I got this from CVS this week (it's on sale through 12/19/09 and regularly comes back on sale at CVS) and found it very easy to get into and use. The "system" consists of a mat connected to your TV with the good old RCA composite cables and to your AC outlet with an AC adapter. A small power button turns it on and off, and a smaller reset button resets the system, which is necessary if you want to quit an exercise or game midway. (I.e., there's no quit option in these games.) A big button is for going back on the menus, not very useful since you get back plus start on the mat itself.
Unlike the Wii this takes no time to start up and get going. For fitness training you get yoga, aerobic steps and muscular training. There's also a fun jogging game and dancing game on the top menu, plus a few arcade games like car racing, bowling, etc. I bought this primarily for the fitness programs. (As an unemployed I've been gaining a few pounds over the last year.) Background music and clear instructions accompany your exercise, and the screen shows you what you should do on the mat and what you're actually doing on the mat, in terms of which pads should be depressed.
I say if you can get this for less than fifty bucks it's a good value and something you can use for a long time.
