Penny Arcade, the Game - Gamers vs Evil Review

This is a deck-building game much in the same light as Dominion. Similar to Dominion, you build a deck of cards by purchasing cards throughout the game, and when the game ends, whoever's deck has the most "victory points" wins. In some ways, this game is a "easier" than Dominion -- you no longer have to worry about a limited number of actions per turn: in this game, you can use as many cards as you have in your hand each turn.
But there is still a lot of strategy involved, and the cards are hilarious. As an example, consider these two cards: one card is called a Scrotuum. This card gives you only +1 Power (which can be used to purchase red cards) but when you play two Scrotuums in the same turn, each is worth +4 Power, since they come "better in pairs."
Another example card is the TouchWeiners card. This card grants the user +2 Tokens (which can be used to purchase green cards.) However, if anyone else at the table has a TouchWeiners card, he or she can reveal that card from his or her hand and then both players draw a card (because they just touched weiners, which is mutually beneficial.)
So yes, the game is hilarious. Whether or not you are a fan of the Penny Arcade comic, you will likely find it funny and a joy to play. And it is not just gimmicky; it really does have a lot of replay value. I picked this game up at PAX several months ago, and my girlfriend and I have played this game over 25 times in just the past week. This game is fun, accessible, and definitely worth picking up.
